Perth CBD is a centre for creative industries. The deep culture and extensive history of the city were among the factors that led to its selection as a centre of focus in this paper. Another important consideration that was observed in the selection of the city involves its urban wine industry and the impact that expansion of the industry has had on the creative industry especially when it comes to food and music. There are various businesses within the creative industry found in Perth CBD. One such business is the Tattoo business, with one of the most prominent tattoo studios being “The Tatt Shop”. This could be considered part of the creative industry as it involves transfer of artistic images onto the bodies of individuals. Another business in the CBD that could be considered under the creative industry involves the entertainment and sporting arena such as the Perth Arena (Brabazon, 2014). Different entertainment and sporting events are organized in the arena with individuals required to pay an attendance fee to such events. Since the opening of the arena, major musicians across the globe have performed in it with high levels of attendance being registered. Last but not least, art galleries are also another type of business under the creative industry found in Perth CBD. These galleries allow individuals to display their creative works in form of art, which are sold to generate income. These galleries include the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Linton & Kay Galleries, and the Outre Gallery.

The Perth Arena is an arena for sporting and entertainment activities, launched back in 2012 (Brabazon, 2014). The arena is part of the creative industry as it provides a centre through which individuals can display their talents both in different forms of entertainment such as music and gymnastics, among others, and in sporting activities such as basketball and tennis. The CBD is majorly supplied by the daytime economy with most of the businesses running during the day and ending late in the evening. Nevertheless, the night-time economy of the area is also vibrant and functional as a result of the extended operational hours of pubs and nightclubs (Brabazon, 2014). The lighting an infrastructure of the CBD has also enabled some of the businesses including some supermarkets to run deep into the night.

Various individuals from different ethnicities, races, and genders have settled in Perth CBD for business purposes, making it a highly diversified region. The CBD comprises majorly of business enterprises with less residential settlings on site. Individuals from both the local Aboriginal tribes and oversee races have made their mark in the creative industry, with both women and men being provided with an equal opportunity to develop their creativity and use it to earn an income.

It is important for the
government to recognize, in its vision statements and strategic plans, the
innovative links that exist between food, tourism, wine, and music. As such, to
encourage both bottom-up and top-down city imaging, it is important for the
