Introduction
Technology has grown drastically in the recent years leading to many people shifting to modern systems that are efficient. The world of today uses technology in almost all of its function such as in the homes, at work, in schools, when using transport or even communicating. Businesses have diversified their functions through the help of technology, which has provided platforms for people to communicate with their customers and investors across the world, share information, and ideas without the burden of paperwork or the delay of using the post office to deliver letters. Transport has become faster less congested as we see the onset of electric trains and automatic cars. Schools have seen the system improved with computers and electronics that aid learning and enable the students to access a lot of information using less time. However, despite all the good things that technology has to offer many challenged accompany it such as the existence of malicious software that leads to targeted systems being corrupted. Hence, the need for the systems to be protected which is the main reason why I do what I do. My organization is tasked with the responsibility of ensuring out customers soft wares, data and systems are fully protected from any form of potential threat (Denison, Haaland, & Goelzer, 2004).
Malicious people with malicious intent create these soft wares in order to gain access to sensitive information or sometimes destroy a competitors business. In the recent past some cases have been reported of government agencies being hacked and sensitive information such as people’s credit card details being released to the public. The same information that people had entrusted the government with was used for their harm as these sensitive details were only meant for paying taxes, parking tickets, sewer, and water, which was accessed by cyber thieves. The vast growth of the technology sector has not been accompanied with a similar growth in cyber protection, which presented itself as a market niche that needed to be met for the systems that were now changing to be duly protected. The company has now become a leading manufacturer of software that are made to protect the systems, software and data of customers. It has been recently discovered that some competitors are being the creation of some of the malicious software. Their main intent is to infect people’s systems and then sell their virus protection and recovery software to the same people (Denison, Haaland, & Goelzer, 2004). Therefore one of the company’s aims is to protect itself and its customers from such malicious individuals who lack integrity and who do not operate under the set code of ethics. The company has grown steadily over the years and has now become a medium sized company, which has attained a sizable amount of profits annually. Many customers gave been attracted by the steadiness and the trustworthiness of the company amongst them being local retail businesses and even the government which has outsourced for our services on a number of occasions.
The management of the company has offered great leadership to the staff members and has been able to steer the company in the right direction as there is a marked success in the excellence of performance of the products we produce as well as a fast response to emergencies when customers call. Proactive measures have been implemented and risks analyzed in order to prevent the occurrence of the potential risks (Dale, 1962). One of the company’s standard of operation is prevention is always better than cure. Therefore, the company toils to ensure that customers are protected from potential harm rather than their systems being treated after the risks have occurred. In instances were a certain risk could not be avoided there is a prompt and efficient response team that is always ready to respond and which acts promptly to restore the systems back to health and prevent any loss of data or further corruption of the system.
The company’s vision statement is to become the leading security software company, which responds promptly to potential threats. While the mission statement is to secure the world from loss through offering the best cyber protection services there is to offer. The staff members are well acquainted with both the mission and vision statements since they b0oth form the foundation of the company and indicate its direction. Apart from these there are also values which the company upholds and prides itself in. these values are honesty, diligence, integrity, excellence and prompt action. All staff members whether holding senior or junior positions are expected to be completely honest in their undertakings whether it is to their fellow staff members or to the customers they are handling. The value of honesty is one of the reasons why many customers have maintained their loyalty and seeks to continue using our products and services since they can be trusted. Secondly, diligence as a value is of great importance. The nature of our business requires for people to promptly respond to any emergency, any form of delay can cost the company and the customers billions. Thus, there cannot be any form of slacking off or delays of any manner. Integrity means that we operate the same way when no one is watching; our consistency in the business is evident and highly valued (Dale, 1962).
The steadiness the company offers also makes it easy for our customers and clients to maintain their loyalty since they know they will experience the same and even better services and products tomorrow. Excellence is a value that is highly treasured by the company and our customers as well. The knowledge that once we sell a product or offer a service of the highest quality is a value that the company prides itself in and has sought to maintain by employing excellent and skilled staff for every station. The roles and responsibilities of every staff member are well known as each person receives thorough training before they are deployed to their workstations. There are also consistent staff meetings that are geared towards motivating and helping the staff members take an active role in ensuring the values are maintained and the mission and vision are achieved.

A functional organizational structure is maintained since the company deals with functional areas such as software and information technology. The company is divided into small-specialized groups that are based on functional areas such as marketing and programming. Functions allow operational efficiency because the staff members who have specialized skill set and shared knowledge are grouped in accordance to their functions. The management system is also set in a unique manner where each small group is represented and communication is easily passed to the top leaders without the barriers created by stringent bureaucracies that slow down communication (Dale, 1962). Since the managers of the various departments, decision-making form the board is made easier and more efficient because there is a representative who has the knowledge of what is going on in the department. The mangers accessibility to the junior level staff also makes the system flexible since the staff members can easily and freely walk into a manager’s office without fear and communicate with them face to face. The way the system is set up also allows accountability to be maintained since it is easy to trace the steps of every individual and know where mistakes occurred. Monitoring the work progress is also made easier for managers. The chain of command, which is the structure of leadership, authority, and responsibility in the corporation, is represented in the figure below. Role and responsibilities are clearly defined and kept in check by the team leaders who report to the managers.
In conclusion, the structure, values, mission and vision of the company are all geared towards protecting the systems of the customers that trust our products and services and ensuring they are offered top notch services under any circumstance. The market niche has been met and utilized, many satisfied customers have introduced many other prospective customers whohave brought continuity to the business, and the future is looking bright.
