Part 1: STAR Framework
Through the use of STAR framework, I was able to identify my weakness and strength throughout the interview. To begin with, I had previously undertaken a role as a leader as a group in my management accounting course. As an international student, I experienced difficulties in communication since English was my second language. Communication has been an issue since I joined Australia. With the appreciation if diversity, I wanted to interact and experience other cultures in the achievement of double-culture skills. Evidently, as a leader, we are supposed to guide others in activities so that the given group task can be completed duly. Furthermore, in my peer assessment interviews, I was asked to overcome the challenges in communication.
My action plans to overcome my barriers were mainly affected by my patient nature and being organized. In leadership, individuals employ different strategies that make their groups achieve their set goals and sub-goals. As a leader, I applied the step-by-step approach in completing tasks. Organization is another core component when managing when managing groups. My organizational skills aided me in giving different tasks to my group members in the management accounting team. Alternatively, to overcome my communication skills in English, I employed a patience tactic to be able to understand what my peers were doing and kept on asking each one of them to explain further
As I incorporated my organizational skills and communication patterns, I was able to accomplish the necessary activities that we were assigned to the group. By using the step-by-step approach, I managed to turn out as the best leader in my management accounting course. Also, I acquired other problem-solving techniques during the interaction with my team members. Lastly, my communication skills improved drastically, which built confidence and fostered an understanding of how cultural diversity creates a network of team spirit and motivation with regards to accomplishing the set tasks.

Part 2: Reflection of My Interview Performance
The principal aim of peer assessment interviews is to build confidence and creation of understanding other team members. Arguably, before the interview, I had prepared to answer questions accurately and relevantly. First, I employed the use of the seven-step method in my preparation. I researched entirely on the required areas that questions will be asked, compared my skills about the peer assessment interview requirements, prepared my valid responses, dressed appropriately, paid attention and made adequate follow-up. During my performance interview, I faced a panel of (insert a number of members). The interviewer’s the first question required me to state my name, which I answered promptly. I realized I was the only Chinese student in the panel. Personally, I believe that I possess excellent marketing skills, hence, can communicate efficiently and am good in interviews. With my vast knowledge in accounting skills such as organization and persuasion skills, I was able to respond effectively.
Secondly, I was required to state reasons why I came to study in Australia. My response was based on the urge to interact and get to know more outside my country. The interviewer suggested that I had a score of 9.5/10. This score encouraged me to be bolder; it was a turning point sharing my information with peers. Confidence is the key factor in the world of accounting, without confidence, you will be termed a faulty accountant. Further, I received compliments from the interviewer that I had a beautiful smile, and my dressing was intact. Such comments were motivating factors to respond to the queries precisely. Conclusively, this was one of the best interviews I felt that can compete in the job market and convinces managers and other professionals that I am a confident, reliant, team worker and patient individual.
Part 3: Peer Performance Reflection
- Beck
I was involved as an interviewer on the panel when Beck stepped in for the interview. From the interview, Beck is undertaking a double degree in Commerce and Arts. She is currently working at McDonalds as a salesperson as well as a volunteer at the Salvation Army. She is perfect in communication and a determined student as she pursues two degrees and working at the same. Beck was confident throughout the interview as she responded actively to all the requirements of the peer assessment interview. She is passionate as she wants to give back to the community. Beck scored a 9.5/10. She is an inspiration; my difficulty in English can be improved by her. Beck smiled throughout the interview depicting that she is a friendly person and took the initiative to listen to my questions patiently and clearly since I was taking too much time asking her a question.
- Jessica
I also interviewed Jessica; she also takes s a Bachelor of Commerce, and a Bachelor of Arts She is in the second year and the president of the Christian Union at the University. Jessica suggests that she solved her communication through patience; she said that patience helps one to listen and analyze what a person says. Additionally, she volunteered in a program that helped her interact with people in her community to understand better. She exercises her communication techniques with her grandmother. She was fully prepared and confident before being interviewed. She was fluent in her communication and answered her questions precisely and clearly. The feedback for Jessica was rated as 10/10 by me. She is diligent and presented a spot-on response. Her imitative to help the community
Conclusively, the peer assessment interviews were resourceful on my side as I was able to learn and reconfigure my personal action plan in the context of 21st-century career opportunities. Also, I was able to understand the vital role of communication within organizations. Lastly, I was able to develop attributes and skills to be able to work effectively within as a team member when I took the role of an interviewer.
