Human Nature
Introduction
Human nature and behavior has always been influenced by an individual’s culture, upbringing, personality, and environmental characteristics. Different people become what they see and learn. The surroundings in which a person resides plays a big role on his/her development as part of society (Hergenhahn, 2001). The morals and ethics that people are thought including the examples that people gain from their parents and other elderly people, the cultural factors which include religion, ethical factors, moral values, traditions and rules for behavior (Capella University, 2017). There exist different schools of thought which provide a synthesis for the topic at hand. The human perspective is one broad topic which requires a lot of synthesis that is dictated by the happenings in the surrounding that an individual resides.
Dynamics of Human Behavior
The difference between animal and humans is mostly in consciousness, animals go on instinct and humans make decisions based on their conscious (Hergenhahn, 2001). People are good and have good intentions overall, but circumstances of how a person is raised and personality can change a person. People are normally born with no malice, as people grow, whatever they learn at their households, at school and in public places shapes them and helps them become a part of society. If these experiences are negative, then there are high chances of an individual becoming a “bad” person.
Human behavior is determined by their cultural and upbringing environment. It is a learned behavior that will be influenced by a person’s family members, friends, culture and the media. It is probable that people don’t have free will. From the way that people act, it is safe to say that every decision a person makes is based on the surroundings and cultural background. It can be considered as a case of having multiple choice questions and choosing the answer of best fit. Even though free will is considered to be real, every action that we do is a result/consequence of an action done previously.
The mind and body work influencing each other, the body influences the mind and the mind influences the body (Hergenhahn, and Henley, 2014). They interact with each other, the mind can initiate behavior by events such as conflict, frustration, anxiety, satisfaction, and pleasant situations.
Nature has a great influence on the behavior of different people. By nature, people get the ability to speak, see, learn to walk, comprehend, etc. Human behavior is derived from emotions; in effect, emotions are used in the decision-making process. Emotions influence people’s thoughts and actions, based on the knowledge that they acquire growing up. Every emotion is a reaction to a situation or a feeling (Capella University, 2017). An example of this can be when presented with an uncomfortable situation, if we don’t understand what we are feeling we might act in an unreasonable manner.
