Changes over Time .
Introduction
History has proven to be inconsistent in the terms of development and change. Sometimes the changes happen drastically and dramatically while at other times the changes are progressive and calm. Whichever way the changes have occurred one thing we are certain of is that change is a must which is well noted through the experience of the American nation that has been written down in the books of history. The causes of change as well as the process differ in intensity and direction. At times the changes cause development while at other times some changes result to crippling the growth of a nation. Therefore there is great importance in studying the changes that occur over time and the impact they have on the social, political and economic aspects of the American society. The United States of America changed in a dramatic way in the period of the first half century. The changes were instigated by the American Revolution which brought independence causing changes in the social, political and economic contexts. The first shift of change began when the nation broke away from what was known to be a corrupt and beguiling government that operated from England. After the breakaway the nation had to form their own idea and concepts of what would make them a distinct nation and society which is one of the main missions the leaders who had seen the nation into independence embarked on. Since there was no foundation and road map of how the nation should be formed and run the leaders engaged in many seasons of trial and error until they found what works best for the nation.
Social
During that era many people were uneducated more so women and slaves which saw the rise of feminism in subtle ways and the fight for the right to education for the slaves. The uneducated population in the United States did not experience much change though the seeds that would mark a change in perception of women and the end to racism were planted and set into motion from that time. The idea of the revolution and the changes has pushed many of the marginalized communities that is the slaves and women to push for social change[1]. After the war women did not want to go back to their household chores and thus began fighting for a change in gender equality a fight that would see them suffer for one hundred and forty more years before drastic changes could be made and experienced.
Political
After the separation from the British government the founding fathers attempted to design a nation that had the least of similarities with the British government. In order to accomplish this desire they changed the articled of the confederation. Ideas that made the new reformed articles of confederation resulted in chaos when a functioning government was changed into a structure that was not healthy for the nation to be able to form a foundation that would see the rise of a new era and government. The federal and state governments did not have any authority to impose tax on the citizens and there was no given concept of an executive branch of the government. These flaws that were caused by the unrelenting desire to break away from the structure of the British government which was viewed as the source of heir oppression and slavery for many years led to the rise of many issues. There were serious incidences of civil unrest in many parts of the nation. Given that the government was still in its forming stage it proved difficult to guarantee stability and suppress the many rebellions that occurred during that time. This prompted the founding fathers to look for ways of forming a centralized and stronger government which led to them drafting the constitution that would see the establishment of these changes that were necessary for the nation to stand. The changes in the constitution led to the spurring of the first party system in America which was formed on the lines of federalism while its counter opponent fought for Anti-Federalism combined with the concepts of strict and lose constructionism[2]. These ideas have still progressed today which is evidenced by the republicans being perceived as strict constructionists who believe that the constitution is meant to be followed to the letter and the democrats who are believed to be more of loose constructionists who believe that there is always room for interpretation. The American Revolution was the leading cause of these great political changes and revelations which enables the founding fathers to include concepts in the constitution which they were not previously aware of.
Economically
Economically the nation began to experience industrialization from 1790 which saw the onslaught of drastic changes that would lead the nation into developing economically. Small scale farming progressed into large scale farming as people started using machines which enabled them to produce more at a given time. The markets expanded and the nature of work changed as people began to seek employment in industries. Improvement of the transportation system also opened up many areas enabling them to trade their products and expand their markets.
Conclusion
In a nutshell many changes were experienced over time from the 1770s to 1860s which impacted the social, political and economic aspects of the society. A new government was formed, the market was opened up due to mass production of goods and changes were spurred for the marginalized groups particularly the slaves and women. In these ways the society experienced many changes in all aspects of their lives.
