This assessment has two parts for you
to complete. Please read through the case study and complete part 1 and
part 2. Case study: Eighteen months ago, you decided to set up a company in the retail sector. You have sold your products/services locally until now. You have decided to expand to online sales and therefore have decided to develop an e-commerce site to sell to UK and EU customers, with plans to expand internationally within five years. As you do not have an online presence currently, you do not have an established customer following or trust in the market. You have a small team of employees with limited technical expertise and a moderate budget of £11,500. The budget is split as follows: £3500 for CMS solution including payment, analytics and SEO£1000 for security£2000 for staff training£2000 for legal consultation£3000 contingency money Part 1: Building an ecommerce site- 50% of assessment grade (1500-word equivalent) You are to choose a specific industry within the retail sector and develop an e-commerce site using a CMS package for a small-to-medium business (SME). The e-commerce site must be fully-functional and easy for customers to navigate. You will need to include: An online shop functionality that is populated with multiple productsAn integrated payment processing systemIntegrated social media for marketing purposesSecurity integrationEnhanced features to improve user experience. You will need to provide the URL to your ecommerce site on the provided template, along with screenshots of the core pages and functions and then fill out the table provided on the report, which asks you to identify the plugins you have used and a short justification of why you have used them (e.g. a functional analysis). Part 2: Ecommerce Analysis- 50% of assessment grade (1500 words) Choose ONE topic from the list of topics below and then answer the following two questions. This will need to be written in third person, in an academic/professional style and relate back to your chosen business. This will include Harvard citing/referencing throughout, to support all your assertion, including academic journal articles. List of topics to choose from: Security (suggestions include password protection, malware, social engineering and phishing attacks, etc. – only choose one)Payment processing issues (e.g. technical issues, fraud, etc.)Accessibility issues for disabled customersUse of drones in the companyAccepting e-currency such as bitcoinBlock chain implementation issuesAffiliate marketingMobile commerceCustomer experience issuesOther (please get written approval from your module leader) Once you have picked your topic, answer the following two questions. How and when do I hand my assessment in? | Your work must be word-processed/typed and should clearly show your student number. You should submit your work to Blackboard which is available via your student portal. You are required to keep a copy of work handed in. You will also need to submit your work to Turnitin. The link to this will be available in your course Blackboard page. Make sure that the file clearly shows your student name, module code and assessment number (e.g. BMGT2330-001-******).Make sure you use the template provided to you in Blackboard. Ensure you include the link to your ecommerce site (with login details), the table and screenshots, part 2 and references.Do not include an abstract, introduction or conclusion – they will be ignored and will not count towards the word-count, just answer each question.Make sure that the URL to your site is working properly. If the marker cannot access your link at the time of marking, you will only receive partial credit based on availability of screen shots. We will not email asking for clarification.
