I was kicked out of school in 8th grade for 180 days for Specific Prohibited Behaviors/Conduct and I was not allowed to go to any Southfield public schools during that period because of this incident. I had been running through schools after I finished my 180 days at nova school of discipline but no one would accept me because of what was on my record which resulted in me having to stay at the disciplinary school for my 9th grade year also. Since no one would accept me I had to wait a full 3 months for the board of education to finally schedule my board meeting and they ended up letting me back in immediately because I was determined to succeed which they seen. I decided to go to Southfield regional academic campus which I felt was just right for me to focus and the first card marking I received a 4.0 the following report card marking I was accepted and also joined the national society of high school scholars. I was also ranked the highest of my class I’ve held that spot all the way up until now my senior year I’ve ranked 1 out of 83 and graduated early this march 2017 with a 4.0.

Significant Life Event Essay
The dominant experiences always determine an individual future life since childhood. As such, what we believe as a true, impacts in our lives that consequently predisposes our philosophical thoughts throughout our lives. This essay transcends my experience while in high school and how it shaped my life as well as the underlying reasons as to joining the University of Michigan.
As a high schooler, I had an experience of being kicked out of school due to misconduct behaviors. As such, I was barred for 180 days from attending any public school in Southfield. I spent the 180 days at the Nova School of Discipline. After my 180 days, I struggled hard and thin looking for a school that would allow me to foster my education. No school accepted my records regarding discipline. I had to wait for another 3 months and stayed back at Nova school up until my 9th Grade. After an observation by the board, a meeting was scheduled, and I was cleared to join any school.
I just knew it was right for me to go back and look for a campus in Southfield. My determination and hard work paid back, and I was able to attain a 4.0 on the first card marking. I was able to join the National Society of High School Scholars. In my class, I was ranked 1 out of 83, and it prompted my long-awaited graduation in March 2017 with a 4.0!
At home, I used to feud with my sister and father. Well, I was an angry kid, even disputing with my father at the church. Arguably, Lao Tsu stipulates that “The best fighter is never angry.” Indeed, I had to be the best fighter. Being kicked out of school and attending anger management sessions sparked a fundamental change in my life. I came to a realization that anger is a distractor in my academics as well as my social life. Gautama Buddha suggests that “Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else, you are the one who gets burned.” Indeed, I was burned and banned!
After successful anger management therapy, I understood the need to manage my anger. As such, this prompted a life-changing event. I had the capacity to concentrate on my studies just after I realized I could not be accepted in any school due to my angry acts. Finding an opportunity to learn reshaped my dynamical thoughts of being prosperous with my studies. Life has been good ever since I started managing my anger, I have made friends, and I am in good terms with my sister and my father as well.
My grades in high school were escalated by my change in behavioral patterns. Being the best in my final year grants me an opportunity to join one of the best campuses in the country, University of Michigan. I am confident that I will develop philosophical competencies during my stay here and gain more knowledge regarding anger management. Professionally, it is evident that anger is a destructor, and am totally convinced my anger is under control. Furthermore, the University of Michigan has always been my childhood’s best career institution that I have longed to join. It is not triggered by family affiliations or recommendation, but it is a place I believe I will prosper and become a better person in future.
